Oppo A7
Oppo A7
Oppo has been flooding the market with many devices in the year 2018 and their strategy is to make a device available for all the price points in the market. Oppo A7 is one such device in the mid price range segment that has some great features on offer for the consumers. The Oppo A7 is available starting at Rupees 16990.
The Oppo A7 has 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and a pixel density of 271 ppi. The color reproduction is good as it is an LCD display but the resolution is a little less. The blacks and contrast are decently displayed in the camera pictures on this screen.
The Oppo A7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with Octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 processors and the adreno 506 Graphics chipset. Considering the price range of the device this is a bit dated as it is available now with the 10000 rupee range devices. The Oppo A7 is available in 3/4GB RAM variants with 32/64GB storage with the option of expanding the storage via a microSD card up to 256GB. The ColorOS 5.2 is available with the new security patch and has most of its issues and bugs fixed, but the OS still lacks its own signature as a skin overlay and still looks like a cheap version of iOS.
The cameras on the Oppo A7 are dual cameras at the rear and a front camera in the notch design. The dual cameras on have a 13 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.2 and a 2 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.4 with a depth sensor. The rear cameras take decent pictures in good daylight conditions and take about a second to focus on the subject but the result produced is good. On portraits however the edge detection suffers a bit and the bokeh mode doesn’t turn out as well as we would have liked. The front camera is a 16 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.0 and is capable of taking quality shots in daylight but the selfies turn out over-beautified due the AI-beautification mode makin the skin look too smooth. The cameras on the device suffer when taking pictures in low light conditions and the images turn out to be grainy and out of focus. The edges also blacken a bit and the overall image only focuses in the middle portion of the shot.
The 4230mAh Li-Po battery on the Oppo A7 is nice and big to last you for a full day on a single charge on heavy usage and almost 2 days on average usasge. The device doesn’t offer fast charging and it is disappointing given the price being asked for the phone. It takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge from 0 to 100.
The Oppo A7 is available in Glazing Blue, Dazzling Gold and Rose Pink color variants.

CONS –
The Ultimate Review
The Oppo A7 is a device in the mid price range but the specifications don’t do it justice given that other devices with almost the same specifications are available for around 10000 rupees.
The camera shots are decent in the daylight but the night photography suffers a bit as the images show a lot of blacks on the edges and noise overall.
The device is able to run heavy apps easily but there is some quality compromise with heavy games and you can’t render them in the best available options.
The battery life is pretty good but paying that much for just this one perk seems meaningless as the other features don’t make the device worth your money.
Buy Oppo A7 only if you want to have a notch design on your display.
