The Redmi Note 6 Pro offers some minor Upgrades to its Predecessor Redmi Note 5 Pro. Although it is a new device by Xiaomi, it hardly looks the part except for the Notch display in the front which has somewhat become a sure fire thing for all the new smartphones launched in 2018. Aside from the Notch the Redmi Note 6 Pro looks the same as its predecessor.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in two Variants 4GB and 6GB with 64GB of Storage. Both these Variants are priced at 13999 and 15999 respectively. One can expand the memory using a MicroSD card but at cost of losing their second sim slot as there is still no dedicated memory slot.
The Processor is still the same as the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Redmi Note 6 Pro also has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor with Octa-Core Kryo 260 CPU and an Adreno 509 GPU. The phone has a WIFI passthrough feature which allows it to use the existing wifi and let other devices connect to the Redmi Note 6 Pro via tethering to use the said WIFI.
The Display stands out with the Notch design which has taken the Mobile Phone Manufacturers fancy in 2018. Otherwise the display size is same at 6.26 inches. The screen is an IPS LCD display and has great viewing angles even in sunlight. The Notch now has dual Front cameras with Dual Front Flash for those low light selfies.
The Operating System is Android Version 8.1 Oreo with the MIUI skin overlayed. The MIUI 10 is what you first see when you switch on the device for the first time. The MIUI 10 has some issues as there is no way for the user to control the amount of ads displayed on the device. These ads appear even in the Settings menu.
With a 4000mAh Battery the Phone can last a full day of moderate usage and has no issues in running games and videos. It supports quick charge 3.0 but Xiaomi only Provides a normal 10W charger in the Box.
The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in 5 colours i.e Black, Blue, Red, Gold, Pink.

The Ultimate Review
With almost the same features as its predecessor the Redmi Note 6 Pro loses its feel and value in the user’s mind because one is not tempted to buy this device just for the Notch.
The Battery, Processor and the Camera setup is same and it does not invoke the feeling of grandeur that a new Phone launch does.
Still without 4k recording which most of the smartphones are offering in the market and a lack of USB Type-C leaves the Redmi Note 6 Pro with a Bad Taste in the Mouth.
The Hybrid SIM slot is feature which now irritates because you have to choose between two SIM cards or One SIM card and a Memory card.
Apart from these drawbacks the Phone is good value for money and can perform almost all the tasks that most flagship phones can. It can play games and runs applications smoothly thanks to the Qualcomm 636 Processor without any lag or heating issues.
We recommend you to buy this device if you are looking for a New phone in the Mid Price Range Category.
