Oppo F9
Oppo F9
Oppo has been expanding its market in India with the launch of various smartphones in the different price segments in India while providing great specifications at all price points. It has now launched the Oppo F9 in August 2018 at a price as one of its premium offering to the consumers. The Oppo F9 is priced at around Rupees 16990 in India.
The display on the Oppo F9 is a 6.3 inches LTPS IPS LCD display. The display has a ‘water drop’ notch design in the front and houses the front camera and the speaker grill a the top. The proximity sensor is cleverly hidden in the notch and the company claims that the use of screen protectors might make the sensor to malfunction and provides a pre-applied tempered glass with the device and a case. The color reproduction and the viewing angles on the phone are great and the contrast and brightness gives a natural tone to the images viewed on the display. The back of the device has a unique design that looks like a diamond cut and it reflects light at different angles, giving the device an attractive appeal.
The Oppo F9 comes with a Mediatek Helio P60 chipset and has Octa-core (4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) processors to support it. The device has the Mali-G72 MP3 graphics chipset for those heavy games and video editing apps. The device offers 4GB/64GB of RAM and Internal storage. The OS on the Oppo F9 is the Android v8.1 Oreo with the ColorOS 5.2 overlayed on top. The UI sure needs some work as far as optimization and performance tweaks is concerned but it still works well.
The cameras that support the photography on the Oppo F9 are a 16 MP shooter with an aperture of f/1.8 and a 2 MP with an aperture of f/2.4 with a depth sensor. The cameras at the rear are quick to focus on the subject in the image and the camera pictures are sharp and there is a good amount of detail in them. The HDR mode also captures decent snaps when the background is too bright. The low light performance is a little bit of worry but still the shots are much better than other devices. The dim lighting conditions generate a bit of noise and the lack of detail is worrying. The selfie camera takes portraits well but the beautification mode makes the images look a bit arificial. The edge detection is decent and you can take good pictures with the depth detection.
The battery on the Oppo F9 is a 3500mAh Lithium-Polymer battery and easily lasts for a day and a half on full charge with average usage. With heavy usage the battery lasts a single day and you need to charge it at the end of the day to make it last. The device also offers fast charging throough VOOC fast charging and this allows the device to fully power up from 0 to 100 in about 2 hours.
The Oppo F9 is available in Black and Purple color variants.

The Ultimate Review
Oppo F9 is a decent smartphone in the mid price range segment and looks well built and has a premium feel to it.
With the Oppo F9 you feel that you are handling a beautiful device in your hand and the cameras take decent pictures.
Apps and heavy games run well thanks to the powerful Helio P60 and there is almost no lag due to the 4GB RAM on the device. You get a 64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card up to 256GB.
The battery works well and lasts for a day and a half on average usage and there is a fast charging functionality that powers up the device in about 2 hours from 0 to 100.
Buy the Oppo F9 in our opinion as it provides good value for money.
