Xiaomi has been working on some different devices and has many product series that are popular among the consumers. One such series is the Xiaomi Mi Mix series and the latest offering in this series is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 which is being promoted as the device having a sliding screen and hides the front camera behind it. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is available for approximately Rupees 35000.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has a 6.39 inches Super AMOLED display and it is truly notchless and bezelless, thanks to the sliding design of the device, you won’t find any spaces on top or bottom of the device. Even the speaker grille is on the edge of the screen. The Super AMOLED screen reproduces very accurate colors and the automatic contrast mode and it gives a little blue tint. This can be corrected in settings easily.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has four cameras in total, two cameras in the front and two in the back. The rear cameras have a 12 MP wide angle lens with an aperture size of f/1.8 and another 12 MP telephoto lens. The night mode on the device is capable of taking 88 images and integrating them together to bring out a beautiful picture taken during the night. The front cameras are a bit special as they are hidden behind the display and only show themselves when you slide the screen downwards. The two front cameras are a 24 MP and a 2 MP with depth sensor. The images taken from the front selfie cameras are good and the selfies have nice edge detection for those bokeh mode pictures when combined with the 2 MP depth sensor camera.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with a Octa-core (4x2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processors and an Adreno 630 graphics chipset. The RAM on the device vary and you can get the 6GB, 8GB or the 10GB variants according to your needs. There is no expandable card slot since the device itself offers about 128GB or 256GB internal storage. Most people don’t need extra storage anyways. The android OS running on the device is the Android v9.0 Pie with the MIUI 10 Skin overlayed on top.
The battery of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is only 3200mAh, but the device supports fast charging 3.0 and 4.0+ and the 18W charger supplied with the device is capable of charging it to 54% in 30 mins from 0%. This makes it easier to carry the device without worrying about your device dying during crunch moments.

THe Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is a device that has a good build and a neat design. The mechanical aspect of the screen sliding down is not new as there were many smartphones before android that has the screen slide up. But post Android, it can be said that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is one of the first device to bring a sliding option on a phone for the cameras.
The processor and the chipset on the device are the latest and the performance is the absolute best in terms of speed and quality. Heavy apps run smoothly and multiple apps don’t pose any challenge to the 6 or 8 GB RAM.
The cameras take good quality shots and there is hardly any noticeable change from natural colors to what you see on the screen.
The battery is a little less with only 3200mAh capacity but the fast charging functionality fills that gap and you won’t find your phone dying in the middle of some crucial moment or a meeting.
Buy this device if you want a device with top quality specifications at the price of a mid ranger.
