YU Yunique Plus
YU Yunique Plus
YU started its smartphone marathon by releasing four lower mid-range smartphones (under 10K) in almost a year. It seemed to follow through by using the ‘flooding-the-market’ strategy and thus covering the under-10K market, until it released its flagship level device like the Yutopia. Surely, the journey of YU is complicated, but the releases from YU are not mostly those that you expect from the company. The latest release – YU Yunique Plus is another evidence which points to this factor.
A very late upgrade which is almost with no upgrades! – This would be a brief one-liner introduction about the Yunique Plus. It is important for the only upgrade to make a mark on the users, else there won’t be much left for the Plus to be different from its predecessor.
The YU story has been full of ups and downs. Right from all the hype it created at the time of its entry into the smartphone market, to releasing flagship flops such as Yutopia. The YU Yunique Plus, being a very late upgrade, is again an unexpected (or rather unnecessary?) release by the YU Televentures. Let us see what the YU Yunique Plus has to suffice for the suffix –
We will provide you with a complete guide to help you know more about the YU Yunique Plus Note covering most of its detailed specifications –

The Ultimate review –
‘Only the doubled RAM?’
Yes, the only Plus about the Yunique Plus is the double RAM. All other specifications are unaltered. The upgrade is a safe game, along with a gamble! See the justification –
With the Yunique doing just fine in the market, YU seems to ensure the sales by adding a deficient and requisite feature, obviously the RAM. YU seems to cover the loopholes and leaves the rest unaltered. It is a simple, yet a safe strategy as the company did not have to work much on the upgrade, ensuring less investment while gaining profits!
The other way around, the late release of the Plus with not so much upgrades is a gamble in itself. After almost a year, an upgrade is expected to be full of latest features, (only if the upgrade itself is expected) updates and upgrades in almost every section of the specifications list, but the Yunique Plus has nothing like this. It is almost a replica (Yes, even the design) of its predecessor, except the double RAM. The crammed market is full of expectations, and the Plus will definitely not live up to them which brings us to our initial conclusion - the Yunique Plus is a gamble.
However, from a different perspective, the Plus is a better and powerful version of the predecessor. A double RAM simply means double the facility. You can store a whole lot of your useful apps and do not have to worry about the RAM as you did while using the Yunique.
The price range is YU’s positive once again. Available for just INR 6.5 K, the YU Yunique Plus is a value-for-money deal. However, some Xolo or Intex devices may provide a fingerprint sensor under 8K, but the YU Yunique Plus’ appeal is not anything fancy at all. The YU Yunique Plus, just like the predecessor, is for basic use so do not expect fancy features. Comparing it to the 10K range devices having fancy stuff will make the YU Yunique Plus looks inferior and unconvincing. All In all, the YU Yunique plus falls short from the expectations people have, but it is still a decent buy for 6.5K.
