YU Yureka S
YU YUREKA S
The YU probably came up with the strategy of overtaking the under 10K market completely. But it was not a smooth run by any means. While most of the YU devices looked impressive on papers, a few failed in the usability perspective. It even released a flagship-level device with eye-catching specifications, but just like a few of its siblings, it also failed. However, YU doesn’t seem to lose hope at all, which can be said from yet another lower price tag device – The Yureka S.
The Yureka S leaves us in doubt about the predecessor and successor game. It is the third device under the name Yureka. Just when we thought of something like Yureka Note 2, the Micromax Sub brand has come up with the Yureka S instead, which justifies our initial statement. However, we came to the conclusion that the Yureka S is THE successor of the debut Yureka, if not ONE OF THE successors!
The Yureka S may seem a whole lot different at first glance with the completely different camera placement and design, but technically, it possesses just a slight edge over its predecessor which sounds even more justified when you take a look at the specs. We hope YU has learned from its mistakes and would rather focus more on key factors. The Yureka S would become a perfect successor if it gets all the required upgrades, if not anything fancier to show. But this is what we believe, Let us look what the Yureka S has to deliver –
We will provide you a complete guide to help you in getting hand in hand with YU Yureka S covering most of the detailed specifications –

The Ultimate review –
‘The Slight Edge, that’s it!’
Yes, the Yureka S is not more than a slight but essential improvement over the predecessors, but it is how a successor should sound like, isn’t it?
The Yutopia remains the only flagship level phone by the YU. Even the Note legacy is not carried forward. Instead of all this, the Yureka S seems a late upgrade to the debut YU phone. But better late than never!
To be honest, we expect much more with an upgrade so late in the market, but this is not what the Yureka S is about. Talking about changes, they are only slight starting with the screen size which has reduced from the 5.5-inch in the Yureka to 5.2-inch in the S version which makes it more comforting to operate single-handedly. The display becomes 1080p Full HD, as compared to the debut’s 720p display. While the RAM is increased to 3 GB, the hardware mostly remains the same. The S version would have become something interesting to talk about if it had gotten the camera upgrade. But disappointingly, it is not the case with the successor and the camera remains unaltered. The battery power has increased to 3000 mAh which is worth mentioning. Other than all this, there is nothing worth mentioning about upgrades.
Verdict –
Had it been the release price (~13K) we were dealing with, it would have been very hard to recommend the Yureka S, considering the 2017 smartphone market. However, the Yureka S is now available at a price which is as low as 8K which makes it a bit appealing. The Yureka S is not a complete upgrade over the Yureka, but slight changes that matter have been made which look pretty at 8K.
