The Honor 7A was launched in the entry level price range for the price of Rupees 10999 by Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei. This is a device that looks good and has a premium build quality.
The Honor 7A has a 5.7 inches IPS LCD display which is good considering its output in indoor and outdoor viewing conditions. The color saturation is good and the clarity and sharpness is average due to its 720 x 1440 pixels display.
The device runs on the older version of Qualcomm snapdragon 430 even when the Qualcomm snapdragon 450 is available. It has 1.4Ghz octa-core processors and an Adreno 505 graphics chipset. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and runs smoothly with these specifications.
The Honor 7A runs the Android v8.0 operating system and you will find the EMUI 8.0 custom ROM interface by Honor over it. The interface is not that great as the icons look a bit bigger than average and you find no app drawer unless you activate it.
The cameras on the Honor 7A are average with a 13MP + 2MP at the rear and an 8MP at the front. The pictures taken are decent and there is detail in them but its gets dark and grainy in low light and during the night they only work well with the flash on. The front selfie camera is not great if you like taking selfies. There are other devices that offer much better selfie cameras for the same price range.
Battery on the phone is a 3000mAh Lithium-Polymer non removable battery and takes around two and a half hours to fully charge. The device still has the Micro USB 2.0 connector and lacks fast charging. The battery lasts almost a day and starts running on fumes at the end of the day so you need to be mindful of it.
The Honor 7A comes in three color variants of Black, Gold and Blue

PROS –
5.7 inch display.
Average screen to body ratio that is, approximately 75.4%.
282 ppi pixel density.
Good neat design
Camera Pictures are okay.
3000mAh battery
CONS –
Average low light camera performance
The device heats up when running heavy apps.
Lags during multiple apps
Camera app hangs and crashes a lot
The UI EMUI 8.0 is not that great.
Honor has tried to give a device that has some good feature and premium looking hardware to its users, but it has not achieved the ‘wow’ factor or even the ‘nice’ factor.
The cameras take average pictures and low light performance is not much to talk about. The OS has many issues and the CPU is lacking the latest hardware that other manufacturers are offering.
The device gets warm during heavy app usage and the gaming experience is not that good as compared to other smartphones that are available in the same price point.
If you have the budget then go for Xiaomi or Realme smartphones instead of honor as the hardware and software integration is much better in the same price range.
