The Lenovo K9 is priced at Rupees 8999 and it is an offering by lenovo in the budget segment range of smartphones. When you get your hands on this device you feel like you are holding a premium phone and it looks pretty solid with the glass back finish, the dual cameras in the front and the back with a fingerprint sensor to match. As you look at the phone you feel that the company has gone to great lengths to make the phone look premium and sturdy.
The Lenovo K9 sports a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is pretty impressive when you look at the other competitors and what they are offering in the same price range.
Lenovo K9 runs on the MediaTek Helio P22 Processor namely the MT6762, unlike other phones which are running the qualcomm series. The phone has an octa core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU which clock at around 2GHz and the PowerVR GE8320 supporting the graphics display.
The Phone sports dual cameras, both in the front and the back. Both these cameras have the same configuration i.e. 13MP + 5MP. The Rear Camera has a Dual Flash while the front camera has a single flash. The camera Performance is decent and you get some good pictures. But there is some discrepancy in the photos as the performance of the camera is not consistent across all photos.
The Phone comes with a USB Type - C charger and supports fast charging. The 3000mAh supports the phone for a full day of usage with a screen time of around 5 hours.
The Glass finish looks good with the Black and Blue color variants in which the device is available.

PROS –
5.7 Full HD display
Fast charging 3.0
Good screen to body ratio that is, approximately 75%
Gorgeous look and Premium Glass Back Finish
USB Type C
CONS –
No dedicated microSD Slot
Average Camera even with dual cameras on both front and rear
Slows down a bit when playing heavy Games
Performance is average and does not justify the premium build quality
With an aggressive pricing on the Lenovo K9 at Rupees 8999, Lenovo offers a decent budget smartphone. The stock android OS Oreo comes with some bloatware. Games from Gameloft and UC Browser are pre-installed. You can uninstall these apps and games if you don’t want these apps to occupy unnecessary space.
The Depth sensor helps in creating the bokeh effect in both the front and rear camera pictures. It is not as effective and the effect looks more like a blur then something which is out of focus.
The phone does experience some lag when you run heavy apps or games like PUBG and simmers them down to low quality graphics output to keep them running.
The USB Type-C is a good addition given the Price point. The phone supports Dual VoLTE SIM cards. You can insert two Nano SIMs or you can insert One Nano SIM and One MicroSD card to expand the internal memory upto 256GB. The lack of dedicated memory slot is a drawback and will definitely be a cause of concern for some users who like to carry both their SIM cards and Memory Card on the same device.
Go for it if you like the build and design and if you can ignore the camera performance.
