Nokia has started to make its comeback with its new Nokia devices that are now running the stock Android version operating system under the Android One program. Nokia has experimented with the Windows devices for around 4-5 years without doing something groundbreaking and then breaking down from customer expectations. Windows couldn’t grab the majority market and was only bought by either Nokia or Microsoft enthusiasts. The new devices from Nokia are an example of how a company can start over even after not being in the race with other big names in the market. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is one such device that is priced at Rupees 14999 for the 4GB RAM/64GB Storage variant that runs on Android OS and is decently priced.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes with a 5.8 inch IPS LCD display and has a notch design in the front which houses the front camera. The notch design helps the device to look good in front of all the other devices that are available in the market. Colour reproduction on the screen is bright without any loss of details since the screen has a good 1080 x 2280 pixel density. 432 PPI pixel density makes video playback sharp and appealing.
The Nokia 6.1 plus runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor and has 1.8 gigahertz octa-core processors with the Adreno 509 graphics chipset. The device has the android v8.1 Oreo and it is upgradable to Android version 9.0 Pie. The Android one program ensures that you get the latest updates for the software on time for the next two years.
The cameras on the Nokia 6.1 Plus are quite good. The dual camera at the rear of the device are 16 MP with an aperture size of f/2.0 and 5 MP with an aperture size of f/2.4. Camera quality of Nokia devices has been a prominent feature from the first nokia devices. This continues with the new Nokia android devices. The Bothie feature is still under development and its use is limited. It combines the pictures taken by the front and the rear cameras and creates a unique image or video. The cameras take good quality pictures and the color reproduction and image details are prominent.
The battery life on the Nokia 6.1 Plus is good enough to last you for a full day on a single charge. The device has the fast charging functionality and unfortunately there is no fast charger in the box so you need to buy one if you want to avail the fast charging functionality of the device. On a typical day you may find that the device is running out of juice due to the 3060 mAh battery which only lasts for a full day on heavy usage. Nokia does not show the battery percentage due to the concerns about too much information in the notch display.
The Nokia 6.1 Plus comes in Black, Blue and White color variants.
