The RealMe 2 was launched in september 2018 for a competitive price of rupees 9599. This is the first entry by RealMe after it got independent from Oppo in the entry level price range of the smartphone market.
The screen size on the RealMe 2 is 6.2 inches and it is an IPS LCD display with a corning gorilla glass 3 protection with a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The phone has a notch design that houses the front camera, front flash and the notification LED. The brightness feels a bit less in the sunlight and the maximum brightness is lacking since the panel is a bit reflective.
The RealMe 2 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with an Octa-core Kryo 260 CPU processors and an Adreno 506 graphics chipset. The OS on the device is Android v8.1 Oreo with the ColorOS 5.2 over it. There has been talk about RealMe ditching the Helio P60 and going to the entry level Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 which makes the phone not perform not that well when handling heavy games and apps. There is a response delay and the apps take some time to open and you feel that the phone is slowing up a bit overall.
The design of the phone stands out and looks exceptionally beautiful with its glass cut design but after a time it starts collecting smudges and you need to wipe the device from time to time. One design change is the different sides of the power and volume buttons, with power in the left instead of the right.
The RealMe 2 has a 13MP and 2MP shooter at the back and a 8MP shooter in the front. The cameras take decent pictures and there is good color reproduction and the details are well captured. The low light performance is not that good but it is still good to see that the details are captured well with a little graininess.
The battery on this device is a massive 4230mAh Li-polymer and is capable of running the device for a day and a half on average usage and a full day on heavy usage. The phone lacks fast charging compatibility and takes around 4 hours to charge from 0 to 100.
It is available in three color variants of Diamond Black, Diamond Red and Diamond Blue.

PROS –
6.2 inch display with droplet notch design.
Average screen to body ratio that is, approximately 81.2%.
271 ppi pixel density.
Good neat design
Camera Pictures are okay.
4230mAh battery
Face Unlock performs quite well.
CONS –
Average low light camera performance
Fingerprint Sensor is a bit sluggish and gets it wrong often
The device heats up when you play high specification games.
Takes too long to charge.
The overall experience is not up to par with the RealMe 1.
The RealMe 2 is a device that was made for the masses who only want to spend under 10000 Rupees and still experience a high end mobile device with great features and specifications.
It is not up to par with its predecessor RealMe 1 in many aspects as it downgrades from a better Helio P60 to Snapdragon 450 which takes the performance down a bit and the phone suffers lag and frame drops during heavy gameplay.
The notch is a good addition but the lack of OS optimization affects the overall awe factor of the notc and makes it annoying when looking a full screen movie or a playing a game with some parts cut out.
The battery stretches for almost 2 days if you use it moderately and about a day and a half on heavy usage. With the lack of a fast charging option the device takes around 3 hours to charge which is too long.
With the RealMe 1 available at the same price range as the RealMe 2 and performing better than the RealMe 2, opt out of this device and go buy the RealMe 1.
