Samsung has been currently churning out devices that are there for its customers in almost every price point from entry level to mid to high end and flagship. The Samsung Galaxy J8 is a device that is placed in the mid price range and is priced at around Rupees 17000 and comes in 3 or 4 GB RAM and 32 or 64 GB ROM variants.
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy J8 is a 6.0 inches Super AMOLED display which has a screen resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels and a pixel density of 274 ppi. There is no notch design and the edges have rounded corners. The color reproduced on the screen are natural and the details are not as sharp as one would have liked due to the low pixel density and big screen display.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset with Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 processors and Adreno 506 graphics chipset for those intensive games. The Samsung Galaxy J8 has two RAM variants of 3GB and 4GB and both are able to manage multiple apps in the background and heavy apps easily without displaying any frame drops or lag.
The OS on the Samsung Galaxy J8 is the Android v8.0 Oreo which works well with the available specs and you hardly see any frame drops or lags. The device comes loaded with the Samsung experience UI and a bunch of google and microsoft apps which can only be disabled and not uninstalled. Samsung has also bundled some of its apps with the device like Samsung Max, Samsung Mall and Samsung Pay Mini which stay unused by most of the users and are just there to occupy space on the device.
The cameras on the Samsung Galaxy J8 are a 16 MP lens with an aperture size of f/1.7 and a 5 MP lens with an aperture size of f/1.9 at the rear and a 16 MP lens with an aperture size of f/1.9 at the front. The rear cameras take good images in natural light with manageable levels of noise and vivid colors that don’t look oversaturated. The night shots from the rear cameras are good and there is some noise but the pictures don’t look black. The front camera has its own flash and you can use it to task great selfie shots and the bokeh mode on the device works well and the edge detection is above average.
The battery on the Samsung Galaxy J8 is a 3500mAh li-po battery and lasts for a fair amount of time on a single charge and varies from a single day to around two days on the amount of average to heavy usage. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge from 0-100.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is available in Black, Gold, Blue and Purple color variants.

274 ppi pixel density.
Good Neat design
Camera Pictures are Good.
3500mAh battery
CONS –
Lack of fast charging.
Lack of USB Type - C
Low light camera pictures suffer a little bit from noise and loss of detail.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is a mid range device from Samsung and has many great features with good specifications that are worth noticing in the price range in which it is being sold.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset paired with 3/4 GB RAM has great performance and optimization.
The cameras click great pictures in the natural daylight conditions and the color reproduction and the image details are easily handled by the camera AI.
The battery of the device easily lasts for 1.5 days on a single charge but does not have the fast charging functionality that could have made it a better device. It lacks USB type - C connector and still has Micro USB 2.0.
The device is worth the price and offers good performance in the price range it is offered. If you are a Samsung fan then go for it
