Vivo has captured the indian market with its new smartphones that are being launched almost every month. The company has a device available in all the pricing categories and each device has something unique and different about it. Vivo Y81 is an entry level budget smartphone with a notch display and has been priced at Rupees 11629.
The Vivo Y81 has a 6.22 inches of IPS LCD display and a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and has a pixel density of 270 ppi. The screen is good under sunlight conditions and the color reproduction is good. The notch design on the top holds the front camera and sensors.
The main camera on the Vivo Y81 is a 13 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.2 and the front camera on the Vivo Y81 is 5 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.2. Both cameras take decent pictures in good natural light conditions during the day but their performance is heavily impacted in low light conditions and the images seem to lack detail and also have some noise.
The Vivo Y81 runs on the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset with the help of Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processors and the PowerVR GE8320 graphics chipset. The device has 3GB and 4GB RAM variants available and there is only 32 GB internal storage which is a bit less compared to other devices in the same price range. The internal storage memory can be expanded with a microSD card up to 256 GB. The device runs on the Android v8.1 Oreo and is overlayed with the Funtouch OS 4 skin.
The battery on the Vivo Y81 is a 3260mAh Li-Po battery and is capable of running the phone for for about a day and a half on a full charge. The phone lacks fast charging or USB Type-C connectivity and takes about 3 hours to fully charge from 0-100.
The Vivo Y81 is available in Black and Gold color variants.

PROS –
6.22 inch IPS LCD display with notch design
Good screen to body ratio that is approximately 83.0%.
270 ppi pixel density.
Good Neat design
Camera Pictures are Good.
3260mAh battery.
CONS –
Low Light camera performance is a bit lacking.
The Funtouch OS needs some work.
The internal storage is a bit on the lesser side at only 32 GB.
The asking price of the device is a bit much when looking at other smartphones available in the market with better specifications.
The Vivo Y81 is a mid range entry level device that has a notch display design in the front and single cameras at the front and the back.
The device does not offer much in terms of specifications and is a little on the expensive side which makes one uninterested in buying this device.
The cameras take decent pictures in daylight conditions and the low light photography is not worth posting on social media.
The battery life is okay and you get a days worth of work done with a single charge.
There are better devices then the Vivo Y81 in the market so it is better to look at other budget phones before you decide to buy this one.
