Vivo has been making its mark in the indian market with its new smartphones that are being launched almost every month. The company now has a device available in all the different price segments. Each new device from Vivo has something unique and different about it. Vivo Y95 is an Mid level smartphone with a notch display and has been priced at Rupees 14990.
The Vivo Y95 has a 6.22 inches of IPS LCD display and a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and has a pixel density of 270 ppi. The screen is good under sunlight conditions and the color reproduction is good. The notch design on the top holds the front camera and sensors.
The main camera on the Vivo Y95 is a 13 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.2 and a second camera with a 2 MP lens and an aperture size of f/2.4. The front camera on the Vivo Y95 is 20 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.o. Both cameras take decent pictures in good natural light conditions during the day but their performance is heavily impacted in low light conditions and the images seem to lack detail and also have some noise. There is some behind the scenes processing going on with the camera AI to make the pictures look less noisy and grainy and improve the overall quality.
The Vivo Y95 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset with the help of Octa-core (2x1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 6x1.45 GHz Cortex A53) processors and the Adreno 505 graphics chipset. The device has 3GB and 4GB RAM variants available and there is 32/64 GB internal storage. The internal storage memory can be expanded with a microSD card up to 256 GB. The device runs on the Android v8.1 Oreo and is overlayed with the Funtouch OS 4.5 skin. The Funtouch OS has some decent features but it looks more like a cheap version of iOS with a lot of unwanted apps.
The battery on the Vivo Y95 is a 4030mAh Li-Po battery and is capable of running the phone for for about a day and a half on a full charge with average usage. The phone lacks fast charging or USB Type-C connectivity and takes about 3 hours to fully charge from 0-100.
The Vivo Y95 is available in Starry Night, Nebula Purple and Aurora Red color variants.

PROS –
6.22 inch IPS LCD display with water droplet notch design
Good screen to body ratio that is approximately 82.9%.
270 ppi pixel density.
Good Neat design
Camera Pictures are Good.
4030mAh battery.
CONS –
Low Light camera performance is a bit lacking.
The Funtouch OS needs some work and has some bloatware
The asking price of the device is a bit much when looking at other smartphones available in the market with better specifications.
The Vivo Y95 is a mid range entry level device that has a notch display design in the front and single cameras at the front and the back.
The device does not offer much in terms of specifications and is a little on the expensive side which makes one uninterested in buying this device.
The cameras take decent pictures in daylight conditions and the low light photography is not worth posting on social media.
The battery life is okay and you get a day and half worth of work done with a single charge.
There are better devices then the Vivo Y95 in the market so it is better to look at other budget phones before you decide to buy this one.
