Xiaomi launched the upgraded versions of Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Xiaomi Redmi 5A in the market by announcing the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Xiaomi Redmi 6A. We will be talking about the Xiaomi Redmi 6 in this article. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 was launched at a starting price point of Rupees 8999 and goes up to Rupees 10499 and has many new updates from its predecessors.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 has a 5.45 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The pixel density is about 295 ppi and the color balance settings are optimized to work well with the hardware. The display shows good details and the images look good even in sunlight.
The cameras on the Xiaomi Redmi 6 are a 12 MP rear camera with an aperture size of f/2.2 and 5MP with an aperture size of f/2.2 and a depth sensor, a 5 MP front camera with an aperture size of f/2.2. The cameras take decent pictures in daylight conditions and the color reproduction is a good and close to natural colors . The shadows and details that can be seen on the images are worth a big screen. The front camera takes a decent selfie and you can post them on your social media accounts. Night shots from the device are not that good as they suffer from low light and lack of detail.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 has a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset with Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processors and a PowerVR GE8320 graphics chipset. The device runs the android v8.1 Oreo and hass the MIUI 9.0 skin overlayed on top. The device has a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and runs most apps without any lag. The heavy apps pose a little problem and you will find frame drops and lags occasionally.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 has a 3000mAh battery and is able to power the device for a full day on a single charge. The battery takes about 2 to 2.5 hours to fully charge from 0 to 100.

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 is a smartphone that is an entry level budget phone which has many great features as compared to its predecessors. The device is adequately priced and has good specifications and hardware for the price.
The cameras are decent and take good pictures in natural daylight conditions. The night photography suffers a bit due to low light conditions. The selfie shots are good and the portraits have nice color reproduction.
The 3GB RAM performs well but it shows its limits when running heavy apps and there is some lag and frame drops that happen.
The device is a worthy buy considering the price and specifications with a decent battery life and the quality build.
