Xiaomi has been making some of the best devices in its Redmi Note Series at affordable prices without compromising on quality. One such device that has been making its name is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and its predecessor Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. In this article we will talk about Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is available in two variants of 3 GB and 4 GB which cost about Rupees 10000 and Rupees 12000 respectively.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a IPS LCD display which is about 5.99 inches in size and has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and a pixel density of 402 ppi. The screen has good color reproduction and different color modes to choose from custom and warm and vivid. The outdoor display in the sunlight is a bit lacking but with the brightness fully turned up it is easy to read the screen.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processors and Adreno 506 graphics chipset. The device comes with a 3/4 GB RAM variant and 32/64 GB of internal storage. The device comes with the Android v7.1.2 Nougat but was upgradeable to Android v8.1 Oreo which can now be upgraded to Android v9.0 Pie. The skin overlaid on the Google OS is the MIUI 10. The MIUI 10 is not the ideal OS due to it showing Ads but its handling is smooth and the hardware is well optimized with the software. Even in the 3GB RAM variant one can easily run heavy duty games like PUBG and Asphalt 9.
The cameras on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 are decent but not great or wow worthy. They take decent snaps and one can post them online without any difficulty. The back has a single camera which is a 12 MP lens with an aperture size of f/2.2. The front camera is 5 MP lens. The images come out good in outdoor daylight conditions but when it comes to low light conditions it suffers a bit and the images have a lot of noise and there is lack of detail in them. The videos from the device lack from image stabilization and there is 1080p quality recording available.
The battery on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is 4000mAh lithium-polymer battery and it will easily last you for two days with average usage and about a day with heavy usage. The device can be charged with the inbox fast charger and it can easily be charged to full in 2.5 hours from 0 to 100.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is available in Black, Gold, Blue and Rose Gold color variants.

The cameras take good quality images for the price point of the device and you get better images than most phones. The selfies are good and there is the bokeh mode which is not that great in the front camera but works.
You get a 10 watt charger out of the box and there is a 4000mAh battery that lasts you for almost two days which is a good exchange for your money.
