‘Time for YU Phablet’
It was only last year that the Micromax subsidiary ‘YU’ came up with its debut smartphone Yureka, with the primary aim of providing good features at affordable prices, mostly under INR 10K range. What certainly can be told about YU that it acts according to the market, provided the release of 4G smartphones under 10K to offer users with 4G experience at dirt price. The strategy is continued with the market looking high-end features, at an enormous premium screen by the release of the new YU Phablet ‘Yureka Note’. The device can be said as the larger successor of the YU debut, the Yureka. However, the Note is expected to mostly possess similar features to the predecessors, but on an enormous screen.
However, the marketing strategy is not at all similar. YU, which was known for online branding, is now targeting offline markets with the phablet. The Flash sales are not only where you can get one. The offline marketing strategy is a unique move, considering most of the similar devices of other brands are online exclusives.
The Yureka Note seems interesting for large screen cravers, but what else has it got? Let us have a look –
We will provide you a complete guide to help you in getting hand in hand with YU YurekaNote covering most of the detailed specifications –

In one line, the device is an affordable phablet with specifications similar to its predecessors. With the 6-inch screen, it just qualifies for the ‘Phablet’ section.
Compared to YU’s debut release, the Yureka, the Phablet mostly seems the superior, except few hardware alterations. Let us get the changes out of the way first.
Starting with the significant screen size, which has enlarged from 5.5-inch of Yureka to an enormous 6-inch in the Note. Talking about hardware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon is gone, replaced by the Mediatek MT6753. The Cortex A-53 is intact, with GPU altered. The Adreno 405 is replaced by Mali-T720MP3, which will have some effect on the game freaks. The increased RAM edges the phablet’s capability, if not the 8 MP front facing camera. DTS Audio is a mentionable addition. However, the differentiating factor is primarily the fingerprint sensor, which you get with the phablet, along with Quick charge 2.0.
The Phablet has everything you would see on its predecessors (of similar price range) segregated together in a larger device. However, what’s unbelievable is the dropped price at which the Phablet comes – Under 10K.
Yes, you read it correctly, it is not a typo surely. All this premium looking features you get under INR 10K range. Even though its 2017 and you may expect us to recommend you a Xiaomi or any other Chinese device, but the YU Phablet’s appeal constrains us.
The under-10K leader, Xiaomi Note 4 seems the best option for most, only if they are unaware about this phablet we discussed. Priced at ~9K, the Phablet offers you some extra compared to the Redmi Note 4. The 3 GB RAM, Corning glass protection, 8MP front camera, and fast battery charging options are few to list.
Verdict –
The YU Note seems to offer the best value-for-money under the YU brand name, at least on papers. However, it also overtakes the Redmi Note 4 ignoring the performance parameters which makes us happily recommend it, only if an outdated android model and design doesn’t bother you much.
